George prior Big Verge fusee Horn pair case pocket watch No 185. This is a key wind BigHorn pair case verge fusee made in the late 1813. Case: The 1st case looks to be made of horn shell and I gurantee that it is. The case is in beautiful condition with a few missing pins The bezel is in very good condition and silver gilting around the edges. The inner gold gilted case No 2 is in very good condition with one small ding and the push pin has slight wear. The inside has the London , date and silver halmarks and Case makers IR halmark The inner Movement case No 3 has a few small dings and has the same halmarks as the outer case. The stem and bow are very good. The DIAL: The dial is white enamel has one hairline and signes GEORGE PRIOR LONDON. Has no hairlines or chips. The pure gold hands are in very good condition. This watch sets and winds with no problems. Has a bull nose glass crystal in very good condition. The Movement: The movement is a very old key wind verge fusee signed Geo Prior London 38197. I do not know when this movement was last overhauled, but it runs and winds and sets fine.. Watch size: Across 72mm With stem and bow 85mm. Extras: This watch comes with a key chain and key. Excellent triple case pocket watch for ottoman market by George Prior. The outer and inner case are made of silver. Outer case is decorated with engraving in oriental style. The middle case has some silver parts and some brass and is covered by tortoiseshell. Good quality verge fusee movement is signed by Geo Prior and is numbered. Cock is probably decorated with monogram gk? Movement is in good running condition, it runs in all positions, though I don’t guarantee time keeping. Dial seems to be free from defects. Original beetle & poker hands, mineral glass. The cases are as shown – losses of tortoiseshell. The closing springs was repaired, they are loose, but works. The watch is quite big – outer case measures 57mm wide and 62mm high, thickness is 29mm. Overall weight is 150 grams. He received two awards from Society of Arts. Has some dings and solder near the hinge, but not on the hinge itself. The 2nd case looks to be made of horn shell and I gurantee that it is. The case is in condition with some chips on the outer edge of the case and a few missing pins The bezel is in very good condition and gold gilting around the edges. The inner gold gilted case No 3 is in good condition with one small ding and the push pin has wear also has lost most of it’s gold gilting. The inner Movement case No 4 has no dings, but does have gold loss. The inside of the inner case has case maker Halmarks IB, The stem and bow are good, but also has gold loss.. The DIAL: The dial is white enamel has one hairline and signes GEORGE PRIOR LONDON. The gold hands are in good condition. This watch sets and winds with no problems.
