Pocket Watch Case

This is a rare Union Watch Co railroad grade pocket watch in working condition. The watch winds up, ticks, and keeps time overnight. The case reads’Napoleon 14k’ but it appears to be gold filled.

This is an extremely nice antique French Napoleon III wooden pocket watch case, or coffin. Great condition, no issues! The inlaid insert in the front is shell, some sort of mother of pearl. The wood is mostly if not all mahogany, including the stunning mahogany burl top. The box measures 4 1/8″ x 3 5/16″ x 1 1/4.

Antique Pocket Watch Napoleon I Era Verge Fusee Gilt Enamel Precious Stones Case. Masson a Lyon c1800′s. The watch has a gilt silver hand engraved case depicting enamelled personal monogram of Napoleon I beneath the imperial crown and decorated with various precious stones. The entire case is hand engraved. On the back is engraved the Latin Motto :”Aut Cum Scuto Aut In Scuto” E. Ither with shield or on shield. Or, “do or die” or “no retreat”. A Greek expression that Spartan mothers said to their sons as they departed for battle. It refers to the practices that a Greek hoplite would drop his cumbersome shield in order to flee the battlefield, and a slain warrior would be borne home atop his shield. The watch is preserved in excellent condition and perfect working order!!! The watch has a high grade fire gilt Verge Fusee chain driven movement with hand pierced balance cock, entirely hand engraved, silver regulator disc. All the parts original.
