Waltham American Waltham Watch Co. 18s, 15 jewel, model 1883, grade No. 820 pocket watch in very good working condition. Serial number 8775247 dates this pocket watch to 1898. Hunter case is hallmarked Fahy’s Montauk guaranteed 20yrs. All covers snap shut with no gaps or inconsistencies they open and close with no issues. The edges of the covers have beautiful engraved beaded detail. There are some signs of pocket wear, minor scratches but no worn spots in the gold finish. The dial is in excellent condition with no visible cracks or hairlines. Model 1883 15 jewel nickle plated movement is in very good working condition. The balance wheel has a good brisk motion. It winds, sets, runs, keeps accurate time. It may require cleaning, oiling and adjusting to maintain it as an accurate time piece. It is not in perfect condition it does show signs of normal patina for an antique pocket watch that is 122 years old.
