About 48 mm diameter across the outer case shagreen covered & is in superb condition only damage to cover is at the pip to open the case all the pins are in place i thin the outer case is not solid gold though it is a gold color the inner case is solid gold 18k or better by my reckoning topped off by its original ribbed bow & twisty pendant 7 knuckles on the hinge for the front bezel clear glass bull’s eye crystal excellent deep blued steel beetle & poker hands classic english enamel dial with arabic 5 minute markers & roman numerals the dial is in very nice condition catch to swing out movement sticks out through the front of the dial at the bottom of the 6 sparkling fire gilt movement is signed matt hill london # 181 i have matt listed in my bailles from 1744 till 1790 & feel confident this is one of his earlier pieces due to several clues…. Such as the catch latch sticking out from the front & the worm wheel setup under the mainspring barrel lovely hand pierced & engraved balance cock with a floral edge & a bird of paradise? All hinges and catches are all working fine. Crystal : Glass(Not original) and fall out easily. Dial : White enamel dial with. Few faint hairline, chips at center position, few chips on dial edges, few dirt with stains. Gold spade hands seems to be original, blue steel seconds hand. Black Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial. Movement : Key wind key set lever fusee, running quite good but. A little bit sluggish may need some cleaning, few oxidation. Balance with blue steel hairspring, diamond endstone, caped jewels, comes with original gilt dust cover. Overall a beautiful & descent pocket watch, believe that it will be a stunning great and beautiful gem after cleaning and adding back a suitable glass. The movement is recently fully serviced by a master watchmaker. The enameled dial is in a near mint condition, the crystal glass. Is a good clear condition. The sterling silver watch cases are near mint, identical hallmarked for. The city London, year letter L, what stands for the year 1826. No dings or dents, near mint. Across 55mm, including bow 75mm.
