The beautiful original movement is in very good condition. It has a double roller and is lever set. It has 21 jewels, adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, and has nice gold balance weights! Gross weight of assembled watch 70.0 dwt (108.9 g). Examined by yours truly, a specialist in antique and vintage watches since 1971: Good running order but not serviced, winding a bit tight due to drying oil, will benefit from overhaul, excellent movement condition overall, very few microfine scratches, typical darkening of plates; dial hairline from 50 seconds corner to center; hands excellent, tiny rust bloom; case shows little wear, a few microfine scratches, more scuffs and microfine scratches on cuvette, no dents or dings, complete engine-turned detail with slight reduction around shoulders; good hunting action and spring; bow tight, little worn, crown shows very light wear with reduction at the highlight knurling; good glass crystal. (Keystone), man’s pocket watch, series 8, 12 size, 21 jewels, stem wind and set, adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, straight line damascened, nickel bar movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, gold timing screws, whiplash micrometric regulator in a 14K yellow gold filled case, hinged front and back are on very good condition, machined hunter case with maker’s details engraved on gold cuvette and other scripts. The dial has Arabic numerals, single sunk, white enamel dial with one small hairline between the 7 and 8, blued steel whip and spade hands, serial #1095096. This watch has been recently. Overhauled and is keeping good time. FAULTS; Other than the one small hairline and a tiny, tiny pin ding on the back case. I can not see any other problems.. Antique E Howard 17 Jewels Pocket Watch Running Condition 25 Yr Gold Filled Case w/ Fob Serial # 1001087 Boston MA Circa 1910 Owned By Clarence W Ashby. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself. Beautiful Howard Clock Co Pocket Watch that is 17 jewels and is in running condition. The pocket watch is open faced. The watch has a serial number of 1001087 which would make it as having been made in 1910. No dents to the case. Still has a nice gold colored finish on it. The watch face is white and probably made of porcelain. There is a hairline crack in the face that runs across the face from the seconds face to between the “8″ and “9″. A second crack across the seconds face and then a small one down by the 29 minute mark. The crystal over the watch face is intact, no cracks or chips. The minute marks are in blue and the hours are in black. The hands all are in working order, including the seconds hand and look proper to the pocket watch. The pocket watch is in running condition. The case is made of 25 year gold filled case. The case has a serial number of 2036587 on it and one of the other inner flaps. The pocket watch comes with a nice gold colored watch fob chain. A kink in the links in one place. The pocket watch is 2-11/16″ tall, by 1-15/16″ across, by 7/16 wide. The watch came in a vintage Elgin case that will come with the pocket watch as well. The clock has the name of the owner, Clarence W Ashby engraved into one of the inside covers and on the back plate.
