Fairly uncommon 16 size 21 jewel Hamilton Hayden Wheeler. The unsigned dial on this. Model is actually correct. There is a light hairline between 1 and 2:00. Hands are in nice shape. Crystal is good and appears to be plastic. The CWC Crescent hunter. Case shows one set of additional case screw marks. The case is in nice shape. Open to 90 degrees. Might have to help front lid up. Also the crown pulls a bit far and. Has to be held up lightly to set the time. So a different case or stem adjustment is needed. The watch was cleaned, oiled and adjusted last May. It runs very well and keeps good time. Might have only been 500 of these 21 jewel hunters made. 16 size 21 jewel open face pendant-set Hayden W. Wheeler pocket watch with its original 14K gold “HWW” Hayden W. Watch is private label marked on dial and movement for retailer Davis & Hawley of Bridgeport and Waterbury, Connecticut. Rare watch with a total production of only 250 made. Movement is beautifully finished with gold jewel settings, gold center wheel, gold balance screws, and Hayden W. Wheeler’s distincitve two-finger bridge plate design and wavy pattern nickel damaskeen. Case rear is engraved with A. ” initials and its gold cuvette is engraved “From Father to A. Movement serial number is 175256. Gross weight of assembled watch is 57.7 dwt (89.8 grams). Running and a very nice looking movement with excellent color and luster. Dial faces up very well but has a few light hairlines and glaze scratches. Case is in strong condition with a good in hand look and feel. Bow is thinned at top, likely from carry on a chain. Up for sale is a rare antique all original Hamilton Hayden Wheeler pocket watch that was made in 1897. It is a size 16 and is in excellent condition! It has a beautiful high grade 17 jewel movement and it is in an amazing gold filled Hunter’s case! This special watch is in excellent condition and has been fully serviced to run great and keep good time! Recently serviced: This watch was fully serviced on June 21st 2017. It was completely disassembled, cleaned, oiled, and a new unbreakable mainspring installed, and it was adjusted to keep good time. Movement: This watch runs great and keeps very good time. The beautiful original movement has 17 ruby jewels, adjusted. It is pendant set and has gold screw settings, gold center wheel and gold balance weights. It is in really great condition! Dial : The original dial is in very good condition, apart from some hairlines. Case : The original gold filled Hunter’s case is in excellent condition, and is beautifully decorated!
