This antique pocket watch is in excellent+ condition, it runs and keeps accurate time. The case shows virtually no wear. The lid pops up nicely when the crown is pressed. This watch is 128 years old. There are no dents or cracks and no worn spots on the case. The diameter of the case is 1 5/8 inches excluding the bow and crown. The movement is marked HAMPDEN WATCH CO. The movement is ornately engraved. It is an 11 jewel movement. The porcelain dial is marked HAMPDEN. The dial is in perfect condition, no small cracks or chips. There is no name or monogram on the watch. This is a particularly beautiful antique watch in amazing condition. New Railway 23 Jewel. 16 size 23 jewel hunting case lever-set New Railway pocketwatch. Very scarce high grade early hunting case railroad watch. Movement is marked with the N. Initials in a flag to designate the New Railway grade. Watch is fronted by its correct double-sunk enamel dial and is housed in a nicely engraved 20 year gold-filled Dueber hunting case. Movement serial number is 1043484. Running and a nice looking movement but does have a few surface scratches. Balance cock screw is steel colored while other movement plate screws are gold flashed. Dial faces up well but has scattered hairlines in the outer chapter and also has some edge flaking underneath the bezel outside the 5 O’clock area. Case appears likely the original to the watch and is attractive with just mild even wear to the engraving and some minor wear to brass in some areas round the edges of the frame, neck, and bow. 14K SOLID GOLD HAMPDEN 16 SIZE ANTIQUE HUNTER CASE POCKET WATCH c. The jeweler says it is 117 years old…. The serial number dates it to the year 1899…. The case was tested & is confirmed as 14K solid gold. The case is beautiful… All hand engraved, the watch has a nice clear crystal…. The anchor symbol inside is how they marked a 14K case. You pop out the tiny lever at 4 o’clock to set the time. The front door has good spring & pops open as it should. This is a large, very regal pocket watch…. Man sized watch at almost 2 inches wide, nice & wide as you can see in the photo. This comes from a recent high end estate that was liquidated last month.
