Movement : This watch is running very good and keeping good time. The movement is a nice early Wm. Ellery Grade key wind with a 7 jewel movement, key set from the back, the original solid balance wheel, and a nice gilt movement. Dial : The original dial is in very good condition. Offered is an 18s Elgin pocket watch. The watch is offered as-is, for parts or repair. The good news is that this is an all original watch in beautiful condition with only minor pocket wear – a Gilded Age masterpiece with all detail present. Watch is offered as found, has not been polished or cleaned in decades. The only real problem is that the front cover is broken off near the hinge – the hinge in intact, the metal actually broke. It lines up perfectly, would be an easy fix by any goldsmith; the bow is also missing, as is the crystal. The movement is wound tight, but ticks when shaken – probably just needs cleaned. My best guess is that this has been sitting in a box for over 100 years – it was probably put away when the front cover broke.
