This exquisite ladies’ fob pocket watch, model number 30140, features a hallmark 18k yellow gold case, with royal blue guilloche enamel detailing on both front and back. The movement, at present, is not in working condition. Pocket watch is in very good antique condition, with minor wear/scuffing and patina commensurate with age and type of use. Back side of watch (with enamel monogram) has two abrasion/dents and very minor loss to outer layer of enamel. Winding key is included. This stunning mid-19th century masterpiece of fine Swiss horology craftsmanship was expertly crafted by Breitling Laederich of La Chaux-de-Fonds, which is a Swiss city of the district of La Chaux-de-Fonds in the canton of Neuchâtel. The rare and obscure luxury watch firm of Breitling Laederich was reputedly owned by Charles Auguste Breitling, who was a close relative of Leon Breitling, the founder of the renowned and still thriving Breitling Watch Company (founded in 1884). The guilloche enamel detailing is designed in the neoclassical style, with floral sprays and swags. The center medallion on the front side features fifteen (15) uniquely shaped hand-cut diamonds styled in a gilt-bordered floret. The back side of the watch features a lavish hand-painted monogram with the letter “A” (possibly interspersed with the letter “M”) surrounded by garlands of delicate flowers in the French-style and surrounded by gilt florets. The precision Swiss movement is key wound and set. The white porcelain enamel dial features a gold cuvette, Roman numerals, and subsidiary seconds. The inside of the front cover in inscribed To Mary Agnes – from – Her Father – May 27th 1868. This beautiful pocket watch was no doubt the gift of a wealthy Victorian gentleman to his adored daughter. A pocket watch like this would have cost as much as an average home for a person of the time. The back covers inside are marked on the inside with 18K/PF/30140/(hand engrave service dates – various)/ N. 30140/Breitling Laederich/Chaux de Fonds/ Suisse. 1904 Rockford Watch Company, Illinois U. 0 size fifteen jewels stem wind & set hunter case antique pocket watch in excellent looking and running condition with a fine Victorian era fob. The movement was professionally serviced recently, runs strong & keeps good time. The serial number on the low production Grade no. 160, Model 1 movement is 636436 which dates it to 1904. The movement has 15 jewels, a micrometric regulator, safety pinion, a very fancy damaskeening pattern on the back plates and nice engraving on the balance arm. The original single sunk porcelain enameled dial with black numbers and red 5 minute markers is in good condition with some light hairlines and a small chip repair which is mostly covered by the bezel, but still looks good as it is. The matching gold plated hands are in fine condition. The new G-S acrylic crystal is mint. The fancy Philadelphia 20 Year gold filled triple hinged case has an inlaid 1.5mm diamond chip on the back cover, and is in excellent condition with very light wear, no dents or monograms. The hinges are fine and the covers close tight. The approximate case measurements are 1-7/16 inches in diameter (not including the bow & crown) x 7/16 inch thick. The bow and crown are in excellent condition with very light wear. The fancy Victorian era fob measures approximately 8-1/2 inches in overall length and is in fine condition, no monogram and all complete. An antique felt recovered box is included to protect your watch. This is a beautiful antique timepiece for your collection and use, also makes an excellent gift! Fine Antique Waltham 10K Tri Color Gold Diamond Set Hunting Case Pocket Watch Ladies. The serial number dates it to 1892. Superb tri-color engraved case, mine cut diamond to star center, the cartouche bears no monogram. Straight from a safe deposit box. The case is superb… 10k solid yellow gold… Hinges are solid and work well with good snap. That mark is unknown to us. The watch is about 2 1/4″ tall and 1 1/2″ wide. The watch appears to run strongly. It started right up. It has been running for several hours. We assume it will need a cleaning, service, repairs etc. We have not timed. The weight is 53.58 grams. The case is unmarked as to purity, we had it laser tested, it is solid 10K yellow gold- not gold plated. We note slight hairlines to the dial. This is very very nice.
