The Hamilton 992 was the workhorse timekeeper of the railways back in the early to mid 1900′s. This particular watch is in excellent condition and is running very strong and keeping excellent time. The movement is a 21 ruby jewel adjusted to 5 positions for better timekeeping. The yellow gold filled railroad case is in spectacular condition with a T-bar pattern around the edges. No brassing on the 10kt ygf signed case. The double sunk Hamilton signed porcelain dial is flawless. The crystal has no scratches and is also in excellent condition. The crown is even in excellent condition. This is a stem wind, lever set pocket watch. The serial number of this movement puts its manufacture date at 1924. Any discolored areas on the case in the photographs are only due to lighting reflection… This is a NICE case! The dial has a short, faint hairline just above the number 5, but this is not easily noticed and it’s otherwise in beautiful condition, and the hands and crystal all look great. Thank you for considering our 1915 HAMILTON 992-16 SIZE-21 JEWEL-10K GOLD FILLED BAR OVER CROWN CASE–NICE DIAL–GORGEOUS CASE–RUNNING WELL. A clean and super accurate running condition Hamilton railroad grade 992 movement, 16 size, 21 jewels, adjusted to temperature, Isochronism, and 5 positions, double roller, cupped gold jewel settings, sapphire pallets, stem wind, lever set railroad-grade beauty. Serial number of 1117880 dates this watch to 1915, that’s 101 years old and still running strong. This excellent Hamilton 992 movement is in top-notch working order, with a dead flat and true balance wheel motion that has a fine, wide arc and strong, steady beat. The movement is a smooth wind, starts right up on the 3rd wind and lever sets as designed. The movement holds time well within the railroad requirement of 30 seconds per week. Appearance wise, this movement is looking great, with no tarnish, no stains or jeweler’s marks. The movement was found to have very minor and ordinary wear with no signs of abuse upon inspection, maintenance and servicing. This is a truly rare, high grade roaring classic that you will be proud to own. The Wadsworth Bar over Crown 10K gold filled case is in good condition with absolutely no sign of brassing.
