For your consideration we have a very nice 16 size pocket watch case. The case is marked Keystone Watch Case J. The case has some wear and scratches. The crystal has some light scratches. The bow looks good, but the crown looks to show damage. The case measures about 2 in diameter without the bow or crown. Please refer to pictures for more information. Antique 1899 Elgin Size 6 Pocket Watch in Keystone J Boss Grade 14K Gold Filled 20 Year Full Hunter Case. We are pleased to offer for sale this super nice antique Elgin National Watch Co. Size 6 pocket watch, serial number 9098435 made in 1899. The 20 year 14K gold-filled hunter case was made by J. Boss of the Keystone Watch Case Co. Boss developed a rolling process of applying two thin sheets of gold to a thin sheet of metal which enabled the production of stronger and less expensive watch cases and totally revolutionized the watch case industry of the day. This process resulted in what we now call gold-filled. This watch is in excellent condition and runs great. The dial is in mint condition as is the crystal glass. The gold-filled case is also in excellent condition and features flowers, leaves, scrollwork and what appears to be a lighthouse with mountains in the background. Are engraved on the case. Also included is a 21″ long 10K gold-filled chain marked “Speidel. I don’t know if it is original to the watch, but the Speidel company was in existence at that time. What a fantastic offer! This is a Gorgeous Antique Pocket watch! This watch was manufactured by the American Waltham Watch Company. It was made in 1895. This is a size 3/0. The 19 jewel movement is Serial Number 7283868. It measures 1 & 7/16 inches diameter. It is running when wound and the time although a bit “loose” can be set. We cant guarantee it keeps perfect time. The full Hunter Case is finely detailed & engraved. It is a J. Boss Keystone yellow gold filled case. The case is Serial Number 6493174. The frame has matching number 3174. It also has a fantastic double mill grain beaded edge. The closure mechanism works perfectly and all flaps close and fit tightly. This fabulous timepiece weighs 39.5 grams.
