ANOTHER SUPERB AND EXTREMELY RARE ROLEX MILITARY WATCH FIND FROM ANTIQUETIMEONLINE! A BEAUTIFUL 1940′S ROLEX MILITARY ISSUE RARER WHITE DIAL POCKET WATCH IN NICE ORIGINAL CONDITION. THIS TYPE OF ROLEX WATCH WAS USED BY THE BRITISH MILITARY AS A BACK UP TO A CHRONOMETER. COMPLETE WITH WHAT SEEMS TO BE ITS ORIGINAL BRASS HOLDER/CASE PROTECTOR. A WATCH FOR THE COLLECTOR, OR THE ROLEX ENTHUSIAST. This is a lovely original chromed two piece screw back and bezel watch case. The back of the case is numbered B 6184 and has full military broad arrow markings for a British Military timepiece. The case is in good original field worn condition showing some light wear to parts of the case, a couple of light shallow dings and one pin head ding that I can see (see pics). The inside of the case back is fully marked for the Rolex watch company. The outside of the case back has some normal wear and tear from service usage. The watch measures 5.2cms (52mm) In diameter, excluding the crown. This is a stunning and beautiful QUALITY original ROLEX military watch case. This is an absolutely lovely, and most importantly totally original fully signed white dial. There is a light hairline at 2 o’clock to the dial centre. Apart from that I can see no other damage. The dial is FULLY signed “ROLEX” in black painted lettering and’Swiss Made’ on the bottom of the dial. It has painted Arabic and numerals bordered by a black minute track which is in good original condition. The beautiful steel’spade’ style contemporary minute, hour and minute hands are in excellent condition. This is a really lovely dial in excellent original condition. The crystal is brand new plexi and as such is in mint condition. This is a beautiful and absolutely genuine ROLEX FULLY SIGNED AND NUMBERED HI GRADE cal 548 15 jewel manual wind movement. It has a beautiful finish and is FULLY signed on the top plate in a beautiful typesetting, showing its true ROLEX roots. The watch winds smoothly and sets with ease. It is in full running condition and has nice quiet operation and has just been FULLY SERVICED by my watchmaker. The watch is keeping good time as tested over a 12 hour period. The stainless original crown looks genuine to the watch, and is in excellent condition showing slight normal wear. The standard pattern for this military watch was not to have a chain ring and it is rare to find one that has not been altered by someone drilling a hole through the bow to add a chain ring. This watch has no drilled hole which is is as it should be. This lovely ROLEX watch is complete with what looks like its holder or protective brass case. The case has lots of dents with what looks like service use and has a letter’C’ stamped on the lid. THIS IS A FABULOUS AND RARE MILITARY ISSUE ROLEX TIMEPIECE. Vintage watches cannot keep time like their quartz cousins and will need altering on average between +-2 to +-5 mins per day. They are a little more destructible than modern watches. Vintage watches also require periodic service and cleaning. Every couple of years, they would like their 20,000 mile checkup, oil change, and general service. By taking care of your vintage watch, you will have years of great service, and a quality heirloom to pass to another generation. The watch has some unique factory features. The model 2 Hamilton case is in perfect condition, and has the factory engraved back with monogram, a very uncommon case! The case shows no wear, brass or dents, and is in 10k rose- gold fill. The bow has no wear and holds firm. The winding crown is crisp showing no wear at all. The bezel and back cover screw on and off correctly and fit tight. The glass crystal is very nice, with no scratches. The Hamilton enamel, bold numeral boxcar dial is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or hairlines. The blue steel hands are excellent as well. The uncommon dial is an interesting factory variation, as it has the arrows out at each hour chapter. Very few of these dials were produced! The 21 jewel Elinvar movement is very beautiful, it is clean and bright, with no spotting or rust. The movement winds smoothly and sets properly, running with a strong smooth motion of the balance wheel and is keeping time! This 992E movement is from the 2nd run production 1930-35. With approximately 60,000 total Elinvars produced! A true one star rated and very beautiful and pristine timepiece. I would rate this watch G-7+ near mint to mint condition. Rare Beautifully detailed 1887 17 Jewel 18 size Illinois Box Hinge Gold filled Hunter case with Display Back pocket watch. Mint condition unique White porcelain dial with bold black Roman numerals and 24 hour numbers and Sharp Blue hands. Front cover springs open sharp, to 90 degrees. All case covers open, close and snap shut perfectly together. Nice clean stiff bow with a nice sharp crown. The front crystal is super clean. The rear cover opens to a beautiful movement covered by a spotless Crystal. The movement is gleaming and super clean with sharp blue screws and unique Gold Flash sunburst demaskeening. The Illinois 17 jewel movement serial number 686984 dates to 1887. The 129 year old 18 size model 2 lever set movement winds and sets perfectly. It’s a Monarch movement with an extremely low production number of only 3000 made. Pocket watch sets and runs outstanding with all pivots lightly oiled and the balance with beautiful motion and has been keeping outstanding time. Note all of my pocket watches have been personally serviced and restored to there best working order according to there age and condition. Presented is a nice 21 jewel 16s Illinois Bunn Special, circa 1924, in a scarce attractive yellow gold filled correct signed case with a double sunk dial and recently serviced high grade movement. This Model 9 Bunn Special Grade features 21 jewels, gold jewel settings, gold balance screws, gold train and fancy damaskeened nickle plates and is a lever set. It has been very recently cleaned and is marked Bunn Special Illinois Watch Co. Springfield Adjusted Temp and Six Positions and bears the serial number 4532729. There are no signs of rust or corrosion, all the black filled is intact in the lettering and the balance has wonderful motion. The original double sunk boxcar dial features bold Arabic numbers and a large sub second bit at the 6 position. The dial faces up very nicely, as you can see in the pics but does have 2 light hairlines, one at the 12 and one at the bottom below the seconds bit. It is simply signed “Illinois” in and arc. Nice/very decent original wine colored steel hands. The scarce first model signed Bunn Special case (in 40 years of fooling with watches, this the the very first pattern back I’ve ever seen with this model) is a screw back and bezel yellow gold filled and features the unique to this style case bow with a bead/coin edge. Its in very nice condition with an unpersonalized crest with virtually no wearthru that I can find and the only this I do see is a slight “push” on the back that you need to reflect around to see. It is signed “Bunn Special Model 10 Karat Gold Filled Wadsworth Quality Pat’s Pend’g” and sports a new glass crystal. Nice Illinois railroad approved Bunn Special in a very scarce case.
