1904 Elgin 16s Grade 241 Three Finger Bridge 17 Jewel Hunting Case Pocket Watch from a nice Estate. Antique pocket watch in attractive Gold Filled case, with a handsome Roman Numeral porcelain dial. The movement looks nice but it’s wound-up all the way and stopped. Elgin was one of the top watch making companies when this watch was made. A fine watch by an important American maker. Elgin pocket watch 17 jewel 12 size. Case is a silverode. Case has some wear and some very slight dings and scratches but case has some nice design. Glass crystal has some scratches. 1921 Elgin Grade 314 15J 12s 14k Solid Gold Hunter Case Pocket Watch With Box. Includes Elgin Mahogany Box. Stem Wind / Stem Set. Diameter: 47.77 mm. 15 Jewel Grade 314. Model 2 Class 113. Elgin Movement with custom thermal bluing to steelwork. Enamel dial with Arabic numerals. Recased 14k Solid Gold Keystone Hunter case. Total weight of watch: 73.1 grams. MOVEMENT : Dial side up on timegrapher shows watch gaining +8 seconds per day. Regulator in slowest position. Sometimes when winding a little pressure needs to be applied to the crown to fully engage winding. DIAL : Faint hairline near 5. CASE : Band has some small dents, dings, and flat spots. Most noticeable around 1:00. Very small dings on front and rear covers. Rear cover has a very small notch filed into the edge. Very fine scratches on outer and inner surfaces. A few scratches on cuvette. Both covers open to 90 degrees. Tight bow with some wear. CRYSTAL : Good plastic crystal. HANDS : Spot of oxide on tip of minute hand. The watch is running and kept time over 24 hours within a few minutes. Pretty nice shape for its age. Case shows wear as shown. Both lids stay down. Dial lid spring won’t open under its own power. Hinges are in nice shape. Dial presents well and has some hairlines as shown. Elgin 18s 14K Box Hinge HC. 18 size 11 jewel hunting case lever-set pocket watch with beautiful 14K gold box hinge drum style hunting case. A very impressive gold case with a terrific engraving to its rear of a fancy home on an island at sea against a mountainous background. Watch is fronted by a fancy sunk-seconds enamel dial marked for retailer Rovelstad Brothers of Elgin, Illinois. Movement is gilt finish. Movement serial number is 2785855. Gross weight of complete watch is 87.8 dwt (136.6 grams). Gilt plates have some mild haze spots and some mild fine scratch striations likely from a past wiping. Dial has a good overall in hand look but with some patched chipping at the perimeter of its seconds-register, some hairlines and scratches around its seconds-register, and a small edge flake under the case bezel at 7. Elgin Pocket Watch 18 Size 15j in Fahys Montauk Gold Filled Case – CH178. Even though it is running it may still need to be cleaned and serviced before use. The balance is good. It is a stem set movement. The Fahys Montauk Gold Filled case has some scratches, dings a small spot of brassing on the body. It has an initial “H”. The bow is brassy. Both front and back covers screw on and off. The dial has some light hairlines and scratches but overall looks very good. The crystal has some scratches but looks good. The serial number is 19245910 dates it to circa to 1917. The case is about 2-1/16 in diameter, not including crown or bow.
