Ugust rissn keyless chronometer spring detent pocket watch 200 1894. Original solid silver case by early François Borgel. Rare caliber (probably made exclusively for Ericsson) featuring even more rare high-grade finishing version. Regularly, these Ericsson calibers appear without jeweled centre staff, without chatons and without sapphire jewel on balance top (scroll down for a pic from Dr Crott catalog). Balance staff clearly alright, spins freely and contacts the going wheel; rest parts seem good as well. Unfortunately, in this case I do not have time for servicing and repairs. Never polished case as I conclude from pleasant external patina and bright shiny internals. Perfect signed enamel dial. All original untouched condition originally I bought this watch in Japan at antique shop within Fukuoka prefecture. There is no direct proofs currently but quite likely the watch may have been belonged to one of high-ranking marine captives. The monogram has’E T’ initials. As known, August Ericsson was an official supplier of chronometers to the Russian Navy and Court. I do not support this point. Facts (comparing serial numbers under Ericsson movements plates with Nardin archive lines) doubt the linkage as well.
