C1902 Hamilton 940 18 Size 21 Jewels. Cosmetically Extra Fine Dial & Movement (see Pictures). Good Timekeeping see Testing. The Hamilton 940 grade pocket watch was for many years the company’s centerpiece watch for the Railway Market. It featured “Extra Fine Ruby Jewels, Patent Motor Barrel, Adjusted to Temperature & Isochronism and 5 Positions, Double Roller Escapement and a Micrometric Regulator”. Lids screw on & off correctly. Crystal is scratch free. The gold train & jewel setting movement is clean with No discoloration and has no service tool marks. The engine turning decoration pattern is all intact. The gold letter filling is all there with no imperfections. All setting and winding functions work positively and correctly. Dial is exceptional and has 1 hard to see hairline at 1:00. The watch was observed running and carried in a pocket for 24 hours; the last 8 hours resting on a desk. The watch lost 10 seconds during the 24 hour hours. Further regulation of the watch I’m sure would improve it’s accuracy even more. I have no history of the watch and assume that it’s due for professional serving and adjustments. Big , heavy Elgin Pocket Watch in a Gold Filled Box Hinge Case Total WT. Its a 15 jewel movement, 18SZ Runs good. It was just serviced, cleaned and oiled. The #s on the movement are, 11280656, made in 1904. This is a big watch, it measures from side to side 54.5 mm. The dial is clean with a couple of very light hairlines , you can see in the pictures. Winds and sets smooth. The case looks good, has a few small dents and dings , which is normal for its age. The Thick glass is new, very nice, Comes with fob. 1933 Slim Art Deco Omega Pocket Watch, 18S Stainless Steel Case, 37.5L-15 movement. This is a rare and beautiful pocket watch. Dating to 1933 this is an extremely Art Deco creation from Omega. The sector dial is minimalistic but imposing. The triangle shaped loop is another key hallmark of the Art Deco period. With the discovery of Tutankhamens tomb, there was a subsequent integration of Egyptian style into design aesthetics. The ultra slim case is composed of Stainless Steel, which has stood the test of time as it should. Inside we have a 15 jewel 375L-15P movement with Côtes de Genève finishing. The Omega name is signed in the beautiful Egyptian style script. Overall this pocket watch is in excellent condition and will make an ideal addition to a collection. This is one for the Art Deco collectors. Of destination and the value of the watch. Please see the images as these compliment and aid the description provided below. The dial is silver in colour with a grained finish and gloss coat. It is in excellent condition with only speckled deposits of dirt, with no large scratches, areas of patina or marking. The hands are original and are in excellent condition. They are sword style hands. There is some black tarnishing on the tips, but this does come off with polishing. With this being part of the ageing process, this decision has been left to the next owner. The crystal is a replacement and is in very good condition, with no noticeable scratches. The loop is incredibly Art Deco in style and is in excellent condition, with sharp edges and only minor surface scratching consistent with age. Original crown, in excellent condition. In very good original condition with very light surface scratches. It has not been polished. The case back is Stainless Steel and is in excellent condition, with only light surface scratches. The inside is machine finished with spotting and is in clean condition with clearly legible writing. It has the Omega signing in the centre with the case serial number 88147601 below. A Circa 1933 15 jewel, cal. A rare and thin movement for the era, seen in select, beautiful art deco slim pocket watches from the late 1920s – mid 1930s. Keeping time to within -150 seconds a day, with an amplitude of 285 degrees and a beat error of 3.2 m/s. Case with crown: 50mm. Case depth: 9.2mm. Were amongst the highest grade watches made, having been made for the railways makes them a great choice to use every day, mainly for their durability over time. Their lower production quantities and of course their high grade movements make them also a great gift or investment. A typical railroad’s requirements for a pocket watch in the early 20th century might include. Only American-made watches may be used (depending on availability of spare parts). Only open-faced dials, with the stem at 12 o. Minimum of 17 functional jewels in the movement. Size 16 or 18 only. Maximum variation of 30 seconds (approximately 4 seconds daily) per weekly check.
