The damaskeened movement is marked Elgin Natl. USA, Safety Pinion, Seven Jewels, 8,328,437. The watch was made in 1899. The balance staff appears to be good but needs to be cleaned and oiled to be a runner. The mainspring is wound tight. The dial has a few small hairlines around the minute ring but none through the center. The case if beautiful and I cannot see any signs of brassing. The Keystone case is marked Guaranteed 20 Years, J Boss. The hinges are still stiff and the hunter cover works perfect. Please look at the photos to make your own evaluation of condition and value. Antique Silver Verge Fusee Pair Cased Pocket Watch James Brand London c. This listing is for a large antique verge fusee pocket watch by James Brand, London. The watch has an English verge fusee, chain driven movement. Engraved balance cock with grotesque face and steel regulator needle. Sterling silver pair case. Both cases original with hallmarks for London 1825. Both cases in reasonably good condition, button has been replaced, please see pictures for more details. Movement is signed Ja’s Brand, London, No. The movement is working well and runs the full length of the chain. The original white enamel dial is in good condition for its age. Bullseye glass has some surface scratches and chips to the edge. The watch measures approx 59mm across and weighs 149 grams. The movement has been removed from the case to photograph.
