THANK YOU for considering our spotless, dead accurate and minty Keystone (New) Howard Series 0, 16 size, 23 jewels, adjusted 5 positions, ruby banking pins and all the trimmings. Here are the details. 1,155,498, circa 1912-14, Grade Series 0, 16 size, open face, 23 jewels, adjusted (“Gross” logo inside the arrow logo) to temperature and 5 positions, double roller, huge gold and ruby jewel settings, huge all-gold balance screws, ruby banking pins, bridge nickel plate, stem wind, lever set highest grade railroad-grade movement. People tend to underestimate the Series 0 until they see what collectors shell out for them at the watch shows. This fine and highly collectible antique watch is in excellent working order, with a dead flat and true balance wheel motion that has a fine, wide arc and a strong, steady beat. The movement is a smooth wind, starts right up on my 6th wind with no effort, and lever sets as designed. The movement holds time within 30 seconds per week face-up after years of careful and prolonged hand-regulating! Appearance-wise this movement is looking great, with spotless glistening winding wheels, bright, shiny clean bridge nickel plates with the outrageously huge real ruby jewel settings and gold inlaid setting for the escapement, spotless elongated regulator needle and whip, 100% of the original engraving paint intact, super clean down inside, and rocking and rolling holding RR time! Dial : Near mint bold black Arabic double sunk dial with all-black minute markers. This correct and original Howard dial is in super excellent condition. It is clean and fine all the way around except for a tiny little edge chip at the set-lever position and one faint hairline inside that in the outer chapter only! Hands : Original finish (not doctored up aftermarket) correct for the Keystone Howard Series 0 railroad-grade style spade hour and pointer minute hands. These hands are also in near-mint condition, with about 98% of the original blue finish still intact! Case : Correct signed original Keystone E. Boston” model “Extra (which meant 25) year yellow smooth, mirror-image quality gold fill, pendant set and slot right, swing-out style, fancy dress or railroad case! Having the correct Keystone Howard case rounds out the collectible Series 0 timepiece. This outstanding looking case is in fully serviceable condition. I have restored and detailed this case right down to the hinge so you get the best looking and working case possible! The bezel threads up easily, screws on and off smoothly, and seats tight. The swing-ring is tightly hinged, opens to the correct angle, and seats back down inside flush so as to not foul the bezel. The correct, matching original crown’s fluting is still super deep and crisp for a tight, sure grip, and it turns freely and extracts properly to set pendant-set time and to release and hold the swing-ring. The bow is also original, correct and matching, shows zero brass or damage, and holds very tight to positions. The crystal is a thick, high-domed mineral glass model and looks brand new with no issues. The case does show some modicum of minimal wear, I suppose, including only the most faint and superficial exterior scratching, zero marrings or doodlings, absolutely zero brass anywhere on the scene, and certifiably no sign of any dents, dings, dimples or depressions!! I’ve owned this fine timepiece for 20-odd years and it has always run accurately and never failed to please and delight!! New Railway 23 Jewel. 16 size 23 jewel hunting case lever-set New Railway pocketwatch. Very scarce high grade early hunting case railroad watch. Movement is marked with the N. Initials in a flag to designate the New Railway grade. Watch is fronted by its correct double-sunk enamel dial and is housed in a nicely engraved 20 year gold-filled Dueber hunting case. Movement serial number is 1043484. Running and a nice looking movement but does have a few surface scratches. Balance cock screw is steel colored while other movement plate screws are gold flashed. Dial faces up well but has scattered hairlines in the outer chapter and also has some edge flaking underneath the bezel outside the 5 O’clock area. Case appears likely the original to the watch and is attractive with just mild even wear to the engraving and some minor wear to brass in some areas round the edges of the frame, neck, and bow.
