Beautiful antique Swiss pocket watch with quarter-time repeater. An elegant piece, increasingly difficult to find in this condition and working order. ? Complication: Quarter Repeater. ? Mechanical movement, hand-wound – working. ? Small seconds at 6 o’clock. ? 0.875 silver case (hallmark visible). ? White enamel dial with Arabic numerals. ? Gold-tone crown and pusher (likely plated). ? Functional striking mechanism (very important in this type of watch). Active striking mechanism?? Normal wear due to age (see detailed photos). Case with minor marks but very good overall condition. Collectors of antique watches. Lovers of mechanical complications. Investors in vintage pieces with historical value. ? BRIEF HISTORY / CONTEXT. ? This is key. In this type of watch, the true value lies not in the brand, but in the complication. ? The quarter-time repeater was a luxury feature, allowing the time to be heard in the dark by chimes. It was advanced and expensive technology for the time, reserved for mid-to-high-end or high-end watches.
