1896 Waltham 18 Size, Seven Jewels, Beautiful Case, Just Restored. Outstanding

1896 American Waltham Watch Company 18 size, seven jewels pendant wind & set antique pocket watch in fine looking and running condition. The movement was professionally serviced recently, runs strong & keeps good time. This watch appears to not have been carried much and is very well preserved. The serial number on the Model No. 1883, Grade 18 pendant wind & set movement is 97830269 which dates it to 1896. The movement has 7 jewels, a patent safety pinion and a gold plated regulator scale, a very intricate damaskeening pattern on the back plates, an engraved balance arm and very fancy lettering. The porcelain enameled single sunk dial is in excellent original condition, has a very faint hairline in the center which is hard to see. The deep blued steel hour spade style hands are in fine condition. The original antique stock high dome beveled glass crystal is in fine condition with a very faint scratch or two, too nice to replace. The Sun Watch Case Co. 5 year gold filled case has a threaded bezel and back cover, and is in fine condition with very little pocket wear; no dents or engravings, just some very tiny nicks on the bezel. The approximate case measurements are 2-1/8 inches in diameter (not including the bow & crown) x 5/8 inch thick including the crystal. The crown and thick bow are in extra fine condition. This antique Waltham restored timepiece is great for your collection & use, or would make a fine gift for someone! Also a great investment! My pictures have many shadows, reflections and dust spots that will be cleaned; the watch looks fine in person. Please note that an antique watch may not be as accurate as a modern watch.
