It is very rare to find the case signed this one is by MAURIS to small to photograph but it is just under the shell. Outer cases were never hallmarked. The inner silver case with the watch is hallmarked LONDON 1762. Size of case is 47 m. Some small age wear to case. The weight of the watch 136 grams. All the hinges and clips work well on the cases. The Champleve dial is in first class condition. All the pips are in place. Very fine original gold hands. The glass is very high clean and clear. Enamel dial with Roman hours I to XII and Arabic minutes. The dial is in very nice condition. Fold out gilt full plate movement with verge escapement, chain and fusee. Elaborately decorated and pierced movement pillars. Intricately engraved and sawn balance cock. Three armed brass balance wheel. The clean movement is working properly. Overall, the watch is in excellent, very nice and good working condition. Diameter 55mm, weight 132g. Charles Cabrier II: Charles Cabriers father (a French watchmaker who emigrated to England after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes) and his son – Charles Cabrier I and III – were both reputed makers as well.
