Highly Original Silver Pair Cased Verge Fusee London 1764. Rare opportunity to acquire highly original Verge fusee with its original signed dial case and movement. The outer sterling silver case is in excellent condition with no dents. There are a few minor shallow dings which are hardly worth mentioning. All the hinges clasp and the button are strong with the case closing tightly. The inner of the outer case bears all the London hallmarks to date this watch to 1764. These marks correspond to the inner of the inside case. The original white enamel dial has large black roman numerals with Arabic five markers to the outer chapter. Blued steel bottle and poker hands and signed by its maker Lloyd of London. There are a few faint hairlines which you will see in the pictures. The bullseye glass is also in excellent condition. The Verge Fusee movement has a highly pierced cock with pierced foot plate, square Egyptian pillars, early Tompion regulator and signed by its maker William Lloyd of London and the number 9356. This number corresponds to the number stamped on the inner of the inside case and tells us that the case and the movement have always been together. The watch has just been completely dismantled cleaned and serviced and in excellent working condition keeping excellent time and running the full length of the fusee chain. The watch losses approx 5 minutes over a 24 hour period which is remarkable for a Verge of this age. The watch is keywound at the rear and set at the front and comes with a key. The watch is approx. 48 mm in diameter. Overall an extremely nice Verge Fusee with its original dial, movement and cases which makes this watch quit unique. The watch is difficult to fault in anyway and with the added bonus of having just been completely serviced and cleaned.
