For sale is a triple cases tombac material (gold, mercury and brass) covered tortoise shell edward prior verge fusee pocket watch. The watch has been manufactured by Edward Prior watchmaster who is the brother of George Prior. The dial is an ottoman style and in perfect condition. There is no hans on the dial but can be fixed as the main shaft is exsiting and not broken. The 3rd case had been covered with a tortoise shell and it is in perfect condition. There are some of dents on it but this is also a proof of its originality. The shell is not fake or polyester. All the parts are existing in mechanism and needs servicing. A very interesting and most important TRIPLE CASE WATCH FOR THE TURKISH MARKER. OTHER TWO CASES SILVER. EDWARD PRIOR LISTED MAKER IMPORTANT WATCHMAKER. All the pins are in place. It has no repair and looks great. THE SECOND CASE SIZE 46 M. In first class condition hallmarked London 1848. THE THIRD CASE WITH THE WATCH SIZE 38 M. M ALSO IN FIRST CLASS CONDITION HALLMARKED LONDON 1848 SAME AS THE OTHER CASE. All the hinges and clips work well on the cases. The enamel dial is nice condition with the makers name EDWARD PRIOR LONDON. (SLIGHT REPAIR TO 3-4 AND CENTRE). Very fine black hands that look original. The glass is VERY high domed. The fire gilt movement look just like the day it left the work shop. Back plate is signed by the maker EDWARD PRIOR LONDON. The watch is running well +or- 1-2 minuets per hour. This watch has just had a service. With a very fine engraved balance cock a silver silver Tompion regulator, GREAT PRIOR pillars. The watch will come with a key. Just great to have such an amazing and interesting watch that is as good as this one, and it just has every thing one could want on a fine verge watch, very hard to find a watch in this condition with all that it has going for it. The outer case is in remarkably good condition considering its age, some wear the base. The tortoise shell case is also in near mint condition no losses to the shell or pins. Inner silver pair cases are in excellent condition. Larger silver case with detailed engravings of high quality – no wear or damage to either case. Engraved balance cock and steel regulator disk Movement signed Ed’w Prior, London, 79149. The movement is working well and runs the full length of the chain.
