In this listing we are presenting this wonderful Lady Waltham 14K Solid Gold Hunter Case Pocket Watch with Superb case decoration in its heavy chased engraving throughout. The entire case has flowers covering every area whereby all of the flowers were chase engraved by hand. In many of the American made solid gold ladies pocket watches weve come across throughout the years this is one of the best and fanciest examples. The Lady Waltham 16 jewel movement is also one of the best calibers made by Waltham, and the case itself was also made by A. Condition-wise the watch runs strong but we cannot provide timekeeping guarantee as we have not had it serviced. Antique pocket watches like this specimen will likely need full service to run normally, it is the sole decision and responsibility of end-user to service or not. This antique pocket watch is in excellent+ condition, it runs fine and keeps time. The case shows very little wear. The lid pops up nicely when the crown is pressed. The case snaps shut perfectly. This watch is about 128 years old. This is a 16 size pocket watch. The width of the case is 2 1/16. The movement is marked COLUMBUS WATCH CO. COLUMBUS, OHIO SAFETY PINION 97306. The porcelain dial is in excellent condition. There is one very tiny imperfection along the edge of the seconds chapter ring (as seen in the photos). The ornate box hinge is in excellent+ condition. 1888 ELGIN 14K GOLD POCKET WATCH Hunter Case Movmt 6S, Runs Good-Ornate Engraving. This Elgin Pocket Watch has a Solid 14K Yellow Gold Hunter/Hunting Case that measures a little over 1 1/2 inches across, NOT counting the crown and loop. It is also 1/2 inch thick. The Case has hand engravings almost covering it. There is NO wear in the 14K Yellow Gold Case. It is Impressive and you can see the case in my pictures. Looking at my Last Picture, you will see the inside of the back case cover. It has a hallmark Horse’s Head with “14K”. To the right is an oval with a large “U” with a “K” inside the “U” and a “K” is on the far right. Under the 14K stamping is the Case Serial Number 31585. This Number is also stamped on the inside lid facing the movement, front case lid facing the dial. This Number is also stamped into the middle part of the case that holds the lids. Information about the MOVEMENT: Model 1, 6 Size with a 3/4 Plate and 13 Jewels. I took out the balance to be sure. The Serial Number for the Movement is “2,799,858″. I checked and it was made in 1888. Looking at my second to last picture you will see the 1888 date hand engraved with a note. You can also see it on the inside case lid in my last picture. It is the lid laying flat to the right. This Movement is called Lever Set. To set the hands you have to find the lever. Look at my Second Picture. It shows the Dial and Hands. Look at the 5 – it has the Roman Numeral “V”. You will find the lever one notch above in the yellow bezel. Put a fingernail between the yellow bezel and pull the lever away until it stops. Turn the crown like you are winding up the Watch and the hands will move. When you have the correct time, push the lever in and the Pocket Watch will wind. Check out my other items.
