Pocket Watch Case

Up for sale is an extremely rare, all original key wind pocket watch made by Marion Empire City Watch Co. It was made in 1874 and is considered a 4 star watch as only about 100 were ever made!! It is a size 18 and has a very rare patented barrel. It is in the original beautiful 14k solid gold Hunter’s case, with a total weight of 4.3 ounces! It is in excellent condition and has been recently serviced to run and keep good time. Serviced : It was recently serviced on May 31st 2017: it was fully disassembled, cleaned, oiled and then a new unbreakable mainspring was installed. It was then adjusted to keep good time. Movement : The beautiful very rare key wind movement is in excellent condition. It has 15 jewels and does NOT have the butterfly cutout! It has a rare patented barrel that is unique. This exceptional movement is amazing – with matching serial numbers on all the parts! A key will be included. Dial : The original dial is in good condition for its age, but does show flakes and chips. Case : The beautiful 14k solid gold Hunter’s case is in excellent condition, and is all original, although the bow has been replaced. This is a beautifully decorated case and it has been tested and guaranteed to be at least 14k solid gold. The total weight of the watch is 4.3 ounces! 18C Ottoman Empire Turkish Crest Pair Case Silver Horn Verge Fusee Pocket Watch. A rather interesting find.. Made either in England or Switzerland for the Turkish market. I had it looked at by a specialist.. Who dated this to be from the 1750′s or so.. The chain of the watch was checked, along with the balance.. He then found a key to wind the watch.. And it began to tick…. The key is now included. It has been running for about 19 hours.. Running a little fast…… It was stated that the watch needs to be serviced. The short hand is also a little loose. He noted the push buttons that open the cases are both missing. The horn or pique on the outer case has significant wear… And at the back on the shell is what may be an under. Similar to what is now known as the Ottoman. It’s quite worn around the edges.. But the picture is for the most part intact. No crystal over the open face dial. There is only 1 mark inside the case…. JC in a diamond.. I was told the watches case is silver.. I’m unsure of the metal. The watch and it’s outer case measures about 3 1/2 long from very top to bottom.. 2 7/8 side to side.. There is a small loose piece of metal that I believe goes by the opening. Near where I have it placed. Do see my other fabulousfinds.
