Estimated Production Date : 1935 = 82 years young! Pendant Wind – Lever Set. The movement is clean and running very well. Monitored (18hrs) keeping excellent time. The double sunk boxcar enamel dial has 2 very faint hairlines from the centre. At the 7 o’clock position there is a small chip, no nibbles and in good shape. The blue steel hands in good condition and display a deep blue colour. The crown is in fine condition and so is the bar and bow. The glass crystal is clear and no scratches. The 10k Wadsworth gold filled is in good condition. Displays a couple of small dings on the rear cover. Rear cover has a Masonic symbol. I’m told the symbol represents a “Past Master”. I know nothing about Masonic symbols. Maybe someone can verify this? Inside the rear cover there is an inscription that reads. Presented to Bernard H Weber by Roosevelt Lodge 716. This is a very nice vintage Hamilton railroad watch from a local estate. The movement is a 16 size model 992, stem wind, lever set, 21 jewels, gold center wheel. The movement is marked 992, and also ELINVAR on the pallet bridge. The movement runs strong and is in excellent condition. It has clean plates, full gold lettering, and the screw heads are clean and not damaged. I have not had this piece cleaned or serviced, so I cannot guarantee it to be a perfectly reliable timekeeper. The porcelain dial has bold black numbers, and is excellent. It has no hairlines and no chips. A truly great and desirable dial. Blued steel hands (hands show some wear). The case is 2-tone, with a yellow gold filled center, and silver metal bezel and case back. The case back is marked Wadsworth, and also with a Hamilton serial numbers (starts with H). The case is in excellent condition, with no dents or damage, and no engraving. The watch has some unique factory features. The model 2 Hamilton case is in perfect condition, and has the factory engraved back with monogram, a very uncommon case! The case shows no wear, brass or dents, and is in 10k rose- gold fill. The bow has no wear and holds firm. The winding crown is crisp showing no wear at all. The bezel and back cover screw on and off correctly and fit tight. The glass crystal is very nice, with no scratches. The Hamilton enamel, bold numeral boxcar dial is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or hairlines. The blue steel hands are excellent as well. The uncommon dial is an interesting factory variation, as it has the arrows out at each hour chapter. Very few of these dials were produced! The 21 jewel Elinvar movement is very beautiful, it is clean and bright, with no spotting or rust. The movement winds smoothly and sets properly, running with a strong smooth motion of the balance wheel and is keeping time! This 992E movement is from the 2nd run production 1930-35. With approximately 60,000 total Elinvars produced! A true one star rated and very beautiful and pristine timepiece. I would rate this watch G-7+ near mint to mint condition.
