RARE JULES JURGENSEN COPENHAGEN 18K GOLD POCKET WATCH 12535 FULL HUNTER CASE. This is an elegant full hunting case precision pocket watch by the important Danish watchmaker Jules Jürgensen from Copenhagen in 1867. Total weight is 70.8 grams. Very nice 18k gold case, numbered and signed gold dome, case maker’s punch mark “JJ”. The case has only tiny traces of age and use and is very well preserved. The back side of the case has a small dent that barely visible. The clean movement is working very well. Over all this rare and beautiful watch is in a very good state of preservation. He was born in Le Locle 1808 as son of the watchmaker Urban Jürgensen (grandson of Jacques-Frédéric Houriet). In Copenhagen Jurgensen received his training in the watchmaking business of his family and in addition studied mathematics, astronomy and foreign languages. Shortly after the death of Jacques-Frédéric Houriet, Juergensen went to Switzerland and opened a watch manufactory in Le Locle. His precision watches gained worldwide recognition. For sale is a Jules Jergensen Copenhagen Pocket Watch. This is one absolutely stunning pocket watch. This watch has been previously owned, but is running great. We had this watch serviced just before listing the watch. The watch was cleaned and lubricated. All functions are working as intended. This watch is free of any aftermarket engravings. All marks on this watch are those which came from the factory. This watch features a full hunter case composed of 18kt yellow gold. The exterior of the case has the factory machine turned finish though it is slightly faded. The pattern is still clearly visible. The Inside of the back of the case reads: “K18 JJ 11260″ The exterior of the Dust Cover reads: “S 11260 Jules Jurgensen Copenhagen Patent 1867 January 15″ The inside of the dust cover has a black marker writing from the watch maker that serviced this pocket watch. The Movement is the Jules Jurgensen Movement and is also signed and has the matching serial number, 11260. The crystal of this watch is free of any imperfections. The dial of this watch is enameled and is in incredible shape. There are no cracks or imperfections.
