Early Elgin keywind pocket watch from about 1871. Made for John V Farwell & Co. Only about 2400 of these were made according to pocket watch data base. The 11 jewel movement is running strong. I see one small chip on the edge of the dial between 9 and 10. The front lid lift spring is weak. Lid opens to 90 degrees and has tight hinges. The 11 jewel movement is a model 1 grade 12 with a solid nickel balance. Serial number is 101015. The release button is well worn and does not stay in place properly.
