Rare 1750s British LONDO/CHARLES CABRIER 18K Gold Triple Case Verge Fusee Pocket Watch. This gorgeous piece was made in England around 1750 and features masterfully executed pierce work and engravings. The chimes work when the pin is pushed down and the movement winds up. However, the watch doesn’t seem to work and will probably need servicing. The watch case and second case are made from 18K solid gold. The third case is brass and an unknown material. Measures 2 1/8 in diameter (outer case) and weighs 105.4 grams. Marked “LONDO” on the dial and the back of the case. Movement engraved “CABRIER LONDON”. The enamelled dial is near mint, has beautiful black steel. Poker and beetle hands. The crystal bulls-eye glass is also near mint, nos. The outer silver case is covered with tortoise shell. The inner case Is hallmarked for the city London. Year letter G what stands for the year 1762. Across 50mm, including bow 61mm. The watchmaker Charles Clayton of London, watchmaker till ca 1781.
