Scarce 16 size open face gold-filled Pugh Brothers Special Railroad Model pocket watch case. The Pugh Brothers were official watch inspectors for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, and their Special Railroad Model cases were produced by the Wadsworth Watch Case Co. And feature terrific inner lid engraving with the words “Pugh Brothers, Jewelry, Pittsburg PA, Special Railroad Model”, an image of an oncoming train, and a terrific fancy decorative engraving around the perimeter. This example i s particularly attractive as its exterior also has an engraved train image. Very nice case with a strong in hand look and feel. Rear of case has good engraving detail showing just some mild wear at its shoulders, and rear of case has some mild shallow compression type denting at center.
