Stunning 16S Gold Filled Engraved Hunting Case Waltham Pocket Watch ca. This gold filled, Grade No. 28, Model 1888, 16 size, 15 jewel, adjusted Waltham pocket watch has an approximate 52.5mm round case. One side of the case is completely decorated with guilloche work, while the other has guilloche, flowers, a scroll design and a plaque perfect for personalizing! This case is in excellent condition having almost no wear and only a small ding near the bezel on the back. The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals, a red 5 minute track, blue spade hands, a sunk seconds register at 6 o’clock and is marked Ameriacn Waltham Watch Co. Aside from a very small hairline at 7 o’clock, this dial is clean and in good condition. The crystal is in good condition. The inside case is stamped “WWCCo – 152452″. This is the Wadsworth Watch Case Co. The dust cover is stamped “152452″ and also has a marking indicating that this watch was serviced in 2015. We unfortunately do not have the service record. The 3/4 plate nickle movement is stamped A. The crystals and screws are all in good condition. Stem wind and set. This watch is currently running two minutes slow. No guarantee of future performance. Hard to find 18s Railroad Grade Hamilton 21 Ruby Jewels adjusted to temperature and 5 position isochronism. Movement is absolutely fabulous to admire. Dial has a tiny tiny hairline as seen in pictures. I see no case making markers but she is a beauty. I have never seen on quite like this. For your consideration is this absolutely beautiful 1897 Elgin 16S, 17J, Adjusted, Temp, and Iso Grade 155, Model 6, Class 32 Full Hunter Cased RAILROAD Pocket Watch. Even though it is pendant set, and Hunter Cased, AT THE TIME OF IT’S PRODUCTION IT WAS RAILROAD GRADE. This Model 6 had a run of only 1,000 movements, and total production of ONLY 6,000 MOVEMENTS. This just fully serviced (January 2018), excellent damaskeened nickel movement also has screw in Gold Jewel Settings, Gold Center Wheel, Gold Train and is Pendant Set and Wind. It not only runs and keeps time, it keeps excellent time. This 121 year old movement sets time, and winds easily just as it should. All 3 hands are excellent. They are nicely blued with no rust or corrosion. Elgin was one of the Premier American Railroad Pocket Watch Manufacturers. American Manufacturers made the finest Pocket Watches in the world. Now the home this wonderful movement lives in. It is a 14K Gold Filled Incredible Full Hunter Keystone J Boss Extra Case. This case is ornate, and beautiful, and shows little to no wear. I see only a few minor dings, dimples, and one small nick in the side of the case. You will see these in pictures. The spring loaded front, and back covers work just as they should. The neck, crown, and bow are also excellent. The bow is straight, tight, and shows little to no wear. The crown shows little wear. There is no brassing anywhere on the case, case back, bezel, neck, bow, or crown. It has no monogram. Well, there you have it. I have been a collector for over 30+ years. I strive for absolute accuracy to the best of my knowledge in my listings via descriptive text, and multiple clear pictures. I do not want the new owner to receive any unexpected surprises. I believe this Elgin movement may be all original with the exception of the mainspring which my watchmaker replaced in January of this year only because it had weakened over the years.
