The dial in very nice condition for its age. The blued steel poker hands with fleur de lis type designs also in very nice order. Large sub seconds dial. Also on the base of the inner case, there is a little flip switch that allows the watch to be stopped and started. Pair cased, meaning the outer case separates from the inner as shown in photos, the watch still has its original bullseye glass. Fully hallmarked solid silver for London 1852 on the inner case. Outer case is different hallmark and a bit earlier and is hallmarked for London 1818, so I think the outer case has been added later. Case width approx 62mm. Base to bow approx 80mm. Nice thick albert chain approx 13 inches in length and 7.5mm width. Very nice and heavy. Would make a super gift for a doctor or collector. Here is a beautiful. Antique chronog raph pocket watch/stop watch with heavy solid 14K full hunting case over 100 years old. Dates to late 1800′s or early 1900′s. Center sweep stop watch. Total weight including the movement is 120.9 grams or 77 pennyweight. Near as I can tell it is 18 ligne size (41mm). Case and movement are both numbered the same50284. The dial is perfect with no chips or cracks. It does not say on the movement how many jewels it is. My jeweler says he thinks it is 19 jewelscould be more. He did not take the movement out. I have restored and detailed this case right down to the threads and the crystal ledge so you get the best looking and working case possible! The back and bezel thread up easily, screw on and off smoothly, and both seat tight. The correct signed original “Hamilton Railroad” crown’s fluting is still sharp and defined for a tight, sure grip, and it turns freely but, by design, does not extract, so only a lever-set e. Hamilton railroad-grade movement will work inside. The bow is also correct and original its peaked design – shows zero brass or damage, and holds tight to all positions. The bar-over’s tubing has some super slight central-only winding wear as is so common for this design, but is 99.5% intact and correct. The crystal is missing. This fine case fits all standard-featured lever-set-ONLY movements. The case does show exceedingly minimal wear, including nothing other than superficial scratches, zero marrings, zero doodlings, zero brass to be sure, and absolutely, positively no sign of any dents, dings, dimples or depressions!! Beautiful condition super clean English made by Edward Shilling of Milton, Silver pair cased verge fusee. Large Sharp Solid sterling silver case is Silver hall marked (o) 1929 of London assay. Beautiful Outstanding mint condition white colored porcelain dial with Big Bold Black numbers and Beautiful large Gold colored hands. The dial shows no chips or hairlines at all and is truly beautiful. Absolutely spotless high domed bullseye crystal. All case covers open, close and fit nicely together. Key wind and key set pocket watch runs full length of chain. Balance has nice motion. The balance bridge is beautiful With its unique scroll work. The movement is near mint with sharp blue screws and a Spotless silver disked index for regulating. The disk is nicely seated in a raised ribbed housing. An interesting note for the watch collectors is this movement shows the slow conversion from the intricate filigree work on the movement plates to a much more subdued plain look, yet still using the older silver disked regulation. The watch Serial number is 32548. Pocket watch measures a nice large 60mm excluding the bow. Pocket watch runs outstanding and keeps great fusee time, last checked it was running +/- 1 or 2 minutes within approx. 24 hour period hanging from a hook in the vertical position…….. But cannot guarantee accuracy upon sale. These watches are verge type. Meant to keep time, not perfect time 188 years ago. Also special care must be taken not to overwind these old museum pieces and always remember to wind counter clockwise. Inside the case is a beautiful old watch makers paper from Knowel England.
