Rare Massive 58.5mm 1878 18′s 177grams (nearly 6 Troy Ounces) Elgin Advance Hunting Case Key Wind and Key Set (on the dial side) Pocket Watch. In clean working order. On the inside of the back cover there is a lot of lightly scratch marks-notes as shown. Watch is in working order but timing may be necessary. Serial number dates it to approx. 1878 and it is marked ass then Advance model as pictured. It is 11 jewel m model 1, grade 13, class 5. Case Material– Coin Silver. Movement Type–Manual Wind – key wind and set. Dial Condition– Very nice with slight age use imperfection as pictured. Great original hands as shown. Case Condition– Nice with imperfections -see above and a slight ding as pictured. Case Size– see above. Special Features — Massive size! Comes with a non-original winding key as shown. Please be advised that we have no service record of any of the watches (unless noted above) from these estates and that cleaning, oiling and general servicing is recommended and more than likely required. Please be advised that any watch with a screw back will not be tightened completely and a new or replacement gasket will be needed. Any snap back type will be closed but a gasket will also be needed. These tasks will need to be done by the customer. These are estate items and are being offered in as-found condition. 10K Rolled Gold Plate. NOTE: The lever is on the LEFT side. This case is specifically made for Waltham Railroad grade movements like Vanguard or Crescent with lever on the left side, around 11 O’clock location. These cases with lever on the left side are very hard to find. There is lever cut on the case for lever set movements. NOTE: Although there is lever cut, the cut may not fit your movement. The crown can also be pulled up to accommodate Pendant Set movements. Case: Open Face, both covers screw on/off. Material: 10K Rolled Gold Plate. Please check the pictures carefully.
