Welcome to my listing, please allow me to introduce myself. All of my clocks are working unless otherwise stated, I don’t however regulate the clocks before listing – I leave that to you as every environment is unique. The pocket watch is a double pair cased open faced watch with a sterling silver case which is in excellent condition for age. The watch has the sought after pair cased design with convex lens. Watch is highly collectable and I will completed a full service by the 18th of december. Please note the amazingly hand carved back cock and turned pillars. The Watch Measures – 3 inches high x 2.25 inches wide x 1 inch deep Dial The clock has a 1.75 inch diameter enalled dial with roman numerals Movement The pocket watch has a high quality original hand made English single fusee verge movement. The movement has recently been serviced so is in full working order and will have many more years in it before it will need to be serviced again, please note the fine engraved cock. Condition Report This item is in very good condition for it’s age, in working order having recently been serviced. Victorian silver Hunter pocket watch. Case maker: Waltham watch company. Weight: 139.7 Grams. Dial Dia: 4.6 cm. Watch Dia: 5.3 cm. Height: 7.5 cm including loop. Good condition as seen in images, usual wear to case, some faint but visible hairline cracks to the dial and very small chip near where hands are. Movement is ticking away but not time checked. Silver pair cased Verge pocket watch J. Case BN London 1796. A beautifully elegant pair cased verge watch by the famous London maker James Freeman. In a paired case with correct hallmarks for London 1796. Incuse makers mark BN, with pellet between initials is for Bartholomew Need 13 Bridgewater Square and 6 Cross Street Clerkenwell. Mark entered 6.8.1787 (Grimwade section V and VI). Dimensions: Outer case 5.7cm diameter x 2.6cm. Inner case 4.8cms diameter x 2.5cm. Length of watch including suspension loop: 7.6cm. Condition: The enamel face is clear and clean. There is a very faint hairline between 11 and 12 (very hard to see with the naked eye – see photographs). Fob hanger is secure but skew. The outer case is missing its catch button. I have not attempted to wind the watch and the workings appear complete. The workmanship on the movement is exquisite. Items like this shed light onto a distant time and underline the fact that craftsmanship and the ability to make extraordinary things by hand was a common currency.
