Pocket Watch Case

This is a truly rare model mans Hamilton watch. It is 16 size, open face, stem wind and pendant set. 17 jewels, bridge model. Adjusted, serial #50833 dates this movement to 1901. It is a grade 964 movement, from a run of only 100 pieces, and a total production of only 340 pieces ever!!! The movement plates are excellent, and not scratched, abused, or overcleaned. Also, it is marked with the Hamilton name, and not a retailers name, which makes it more desirable. The movement is a strong runner. I have not had it cleaned or serviced, so I cannot guarantee it to be a reliable timekeeper. The porcelain dial is very good, with a fine hairline near 1 oclock. The CASE IS ORIGINAL! This is highly unusual for this model. The case is plain, screw back & bezel. Marked Fahys MONTAUK GUARANTEED 20 YEARS. The case has is not brassed. It has no dents on the case back, and no monograms. There is one very slight edge dent, but that is all! The case has no extra screw marks, and has only ever held this movement. A very interesting and most important large triple case Doctors watch in mint condition under painted horn case watch. MADE BY JOHN WARD LONDON. In MINT condition with a great colour and nice shine you can even see the reflection of me. ALL the pins are in place.. UNDER PAINTED HORN WAS A TECHNIQUE USED ON VERY EXPENSIVE WATCHES , AND WAS SIMILAR TO GLASS MINIATURES AND THE WORK WAS EXECUTED BY THE SAME ARTISTS. The second case is in very good condition with a very nice watch makers paper to round it off. The inner case with the watch size is 48 m. All the hinges work well on the cases. The dial is in very good condition. Very very fine original black hands. The glass is very high clean and clear. The fire gilt movement look just like the day it left the work shop. The watch runs well. C + OR- 2- 3 minutes per hour. To stop the watch there is a slider by 10 move it up or down to stop and start. With a very very fine decorated and engraved balance cock, a silver Tompion regulator. Signed on the back plate Jn WARD. The watch will come with a key. JOHN WARD IS WELL LISTED.
