Pocket Watch Case

For sale is an antique pair cased verge fusee pocket watch. Fabulous watch, made in a gilt metal. No running but potentially a very nice watch once restored or good for parts. Movement by John Hart of London, dated 1794. Measures approximately 46mm in diameter. Non working but a good project. Balance and fusee chain appear to be intact. When wound, the cogs will turn very quickly until the watch runs down. Missing hands and glass but dial in excellent condition. QUAD CASE VERGE FUSEE POCKET WATCH MADE FOR THE TURKISH/OTTERMAN MARKET. IN STRONG RUNNING ORDER. A Rare Quad case verge fusee pocket watch by Edward Prior made for the Turkish market. The movement is signed Edwd Prior London, serial numbered 76975. The verge fusee movement has hybrid pillars, a finely pierced balance cock with pierced foot, a Turkish numeral Tompion style regulator and blued screws. The white enamel dial with Turkish display is signed Edward Prior London. It has a high dome glass crystal and beetle and poker hands. The innermost Sterling silver case is original to the movement. It is dated London 1861 and case maker stamped A. The case bezel containing the glass opens to access the swing out movement. The back of the case has a keyhole to wind the movement. 2nd case This Sterling silver case is hallmarked 1862 and case maker stamped W. S (William Calum Scott) and again hallmarked the same on the inside of the front bezel. The case has a spring backed button and catch to open the front cover. The edge of the case has fine cut engraved borders. This silver based case has a Tortoshell covering held in place with pique pins. The front bezel is hinged to open by pressing the spring-back button at position 3. Their is a watch paper inside by Edward & George Prior. The outer (largest of the four) silver case has engraved foliate decoration. The outer case measures 66mm in diameter. The dial and hands are in Excellent condition. Case 1&2 are in very good condition. Case 3&4 would benefit from a small amount of restoration which includes a few missing. Pique pins on c3 and a solder fill hole near the hinge on case 4 to improve their overall cosmetic appearances (if so desired).
