BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE 1905 ELGIN POCKET WATCH 14K SOLID GOLD DOUBLE HUNTER CASE. Fresh Estate piece from a large private collection of antique pocket watches, chains, and fobs. This is a 1905 solid 14k yellow gold AW case 21 jewel pocket watch. Was told this was a Railroad Presentation watch, but have no papers on it. The watch measures 53 mm and has a weight of 133 grams. This is a large heavily engraved double hunter watch, with double sunk porcelain dial. The solid 14 carat yellow gold case is assay hallmarked. The case is stunning, patterned all along edges, and the back is finely engine turned around an impressive flourish. Inside the back cover, the case is marked with an AW CO, and assay hallmark in a rectangle’14K’. Inside the dust cover it is again marked with 14k. The crystal is clear and thick. The dial is porcelain, with triple sets of Arabic numerals. Also small red numbered marks along outside edge of hour marks. Great running watch, keeps time dead second. Porcelain dial has a couple very, very fine hairlines (see the 3, between 8 &9) please enlarge to examine. Exceptional gold value alone, too beautiful, rare, and reliable to scrap.
