Here is a recent estate find. Avery Victorian’Post Civil War’ Gents Large Coin Silver’Key Wind’ Full Hunter Pocket Watch, made by the Elgin Watch Company Elgin ILL. The Porcelain Dial Has Roman Numerals with Seconds Sweep Hand, signed “Elgin Nat’l Watch Co”, in Good Condition. The Glass Crystal is Missing, As Pictured. This is a Rare Early Elgin Watch with Low Serial Number!!! The Movement is an 7 Jewel Key Wind Mechanical Movement, Signed Elgin Nat’l Watch Co. The Watch is Large and is Size 17s and is a “Key Wind and Key Set” Watch, Sorry NO Winding Key. The Watch is Currently Not Working. It is Fully Wound and Will Need Service or Attention. This is in Overall Good Original Condition with Normal Wear from Age, as Pictured!!! This is a High End Watch! What you see pictured is what is included. Don’t Pass This One Up! Here is a nice Elgin pocket watch for sale. It does run and kept decent time, just a little slow but you can have it adjusted. Overall the case is in really good condition considering it’s age. Minor indentation on front. See pic. Minor indentation on the back but is hard to point out. Minor hairline scratches on and inside of case/covers but nothing deep. Discoloration near where the stem meets the side of the case. The dial looks clean but has some light hairline cracks near the 6 & 7 hour marks. The hinge opens properly as do the back covers. The movement is clean with minimal signs of light rust in just a few spots. The watch could use some cleaning.
