This is a rare and early Illinois Watch Company (Springfield Illinois) 1887 18s 7j Key Wind Pocket Watch with Chicago Coin Silver case. It runs great and includes key and fob. The serial number on the movement is 836648 which dates this to 1887. The case is stamped “Chicago Coin” with the crescent logo which dates the case to about 1885. It is made of coin silver which is 90% silver. The watch was cleaned and serviced by a local jeweler in 2008 which is marked on the inside of the movement cover. The clear crystal on the front is made of plastic and does have scratches but free of cracks. The white watch face itself has a few hairlines between 3 and 4 o’clock, and also between 7 and 8 o’clock. The case has some dents mainly near the hinge for the face (see pics).
