Illinois Grade 410 HC. 12 size 23 jewel hunting case pendant-set Grade 410 pocket watch. An extremely rare top grade watch, the total production of this Model 4 hunting case version of the Grade 410 was only 140 made making this one of the most difficult to find and most collectible of all 12 size Illinois watches. Movement is beautifully finished with raised gold jewel settings, gold balance screws, gold train wheels, true bridge plate design, mirror finish steelwork, crosshatch pattern nickel damaskeen, and a diamond endstone on the balance. Watch is fronted by its correct double-sunk enamel dial, and watch is housed in an attractive sterling silver and gold-filled hunting case with multicolor detail to its front and rear. Case cuvette is nickel. Movement serial number is 2596355 which dates this watch to approximately 1914. Running and a beautiful movement with excellent color and luster. Dial is superb with just a minuscule pinpoint edge nick under the case bezel outside the 30 minute position. Hour hand is missing a small bit of its tip, and seconds-hand is a gold colored replacement that has some bits of black color on its surface. Case is attractive overall but the front lid opens wide of 90 degrees (to approximately 110 degrees when fully opened), case shows little wear with excellent engraving detail, case front has a dark patina while its back has a lesser patina, and case has a few mild dings or nicks. Antique and very rare 18K-gold pocket watch chain. Striking and very rare 18K-gold pocket watch chain in its original case. The chain was manufactured in the 19th century and remains in excellent condition. These pieces are quite rare, furthermore when they come in their original antique cases. The one that we can see in the images bears no hallmarks so it has been impossible to tell its origin. Nevertheless, it has already been acid-tested and we can guarantee that it is entirely made of 18K gold. This item shows a really beautiful design with an elegant, simple and contemporary look. It is composed of circular and oval links woven with a thick gold cord. The chain is almost 15.75 in / 40 cm in length, so it is a really long piece. At one end it has a cameo-case composed of two pieces connected in a book-like way. Both have oval frames and glass panes to put photographs inside. The chains storing case is rectangular in shape with a dark-red leather covering outside and maroon inner velvet lining.
