Fine and rare, Gold Filled Hunter Cased, Quarter Repeater Pocket Watch, Swiss made for Thomas Russell & Son, Liverpool. This watch is an excellent example, in good condition and good working order. The plain gold filled hunter case is in excellent condition. It is stamped with the case maker’s name “Illinois Watch Case Company, Elgin USA”. The white enamel dial is in excellent condition, it has the hours in Roman numerals and a sub seconds dial at six o’clock. It is signed by the maker Quarter Repeater by Thos. Read our full description as we provide a lot of detail. Great C 1880 T Russell & Son 18 K Gold Diamond Enamel Pocket Watch w Case 043. Description This is a C 1880, 18 karat gold, hunting case, pocket watch. The case is marked G. The front and back are decorated with ornate beading, chasing, and an inner portion that is delicately detailed with dripping diamonds and a floral motif in the middle with diamonds (13 in total). The back is similarly detailed minus the diamonds and unfortunately some of the enamel is missing. This watch comes with the original key (assumed 18 k – similarly chased and patterned), and a lovely wood case with burgundy silk and velvet lining. The case is marked in gilt Thos Russell & Co LONDON 156199 (note this number is also engraved on the inner case of the watch). Maker Thomas Russell & Son. Marked WARRENTED 18 K FINE; G. Loup 18 K 156199; 20. Dial white porcelain; black Roman numbers; THOS RUSSELL & SON LONDON; gunmetal hands (see photos). Cuvette reads in script Detached Lever 15 Jewell Tho Russell & Son LONDON (see photos). The watch runs not has not been tested for accuracy or to see how long it will run for; the enamel on the back needs addressing as much of it is missing, as are 2 diamonds and the crystal. Also, please note that the wood case does not completely shut as it is slightly warped. The key is somewhat crimped or crushed. Dimensions approximately 1 1/2 diameter (case).
