Amazing condition Rare English made by James Rowe of London Serial no. 3953 Silver pair cased verge fusee. Gleaming Solid sterling silver matching pair case is Silver hall marked (e) 1780 of London assay. Beautiful Outstanding amazing condition white colored porcelain dial with nice Bold Black Roman numerals and sharp clean 5 minuet chapter ring. Beautiful perfect condition beetle poker hands. Outstanding near spotless high domed bullseye crystal. All case covers open, close and fit perfect together with nice and tight hinges. Key wind and key set pocket watch runs full length of chain. Balance has super nice motion with a nice loud tick. The balance bridge and right side plate with its intricate hand filed thru scroll work give the movement an amazing depth perception. Truly a piece of art. The movement is near mint with sharp blue screws and a Sharp silver disked index for regulating. Pocket watch measures a nice 51mm excluding the bow. Pocket watch runs outstanding and keeps great fusee time, last checked it was running +/- 2 minutes within approx. 24 hour period hanging from a hook in the vertical position…….. But cannot guarantee accuracy upon sale. These watches are verge type. Meant to keep time, not perfect time 237 years ago. Also special care must be taken not to overwind these old museum pieces and always remember to wind counter clockwise. Inside the case are some old watch makers papers from Perth, Australia. Watch comes with a beautiful sharp key for winding. Pocket watch is listed in the Watch and Clock Makers of the World book as Rowe, James. Beautiful solid and super clean Scottish made by James Blaik of Peterhead, Serial no. 223 silver cased verge fusee. Sharp Solid sterling silver case is Silver hall marked (Q) 1811 London assay. Beautiful white colored porcelain dial with nice clear Roman numerals and outer ring minute numbers. This dial has beautiful eye appeal with just a few very faint spider lines and only a small chip and repair near the center hole arbor, Undistracting. Beautiful original matching solid Gold hands. Sharp near spotless high domed crystal. All case covers open, close and fit perfect together with nice and tight hinges. Key wind and key set pocket watch runs full length of chain. Balance has an unbelievably outstanding motion with a nice strong main spring. The balance bridge with its beautiful Diamond end stone, has a unique face and ornate scroll work as does the left side of the movement. The movement is super clean (almost pristine) with bright blue screws and is regulated by a silver disked regulator with a finger pointing for adjustment. The watch measures approx. 55mm excluding the bow. Pocket watch runs outstanding and keeps great fusee time, last checked about +/- 2 or 3 minutes within approx. 24 hour period hanging from a hook in the vertical position……..
