Good British verge fusee pocket watch in silver pair case. Diameter of outer case is 55mm, thickness is 32mm. Nice champleve dial and movement are signed by Massy London. Cuss in his book “The English Watch” shows the watch similarly signed by Maßsy p. 146, attributing it to Henry Massy about 1710. It’s worth to note, that his father, Nicholas Massy, French born (Blois) French Huguenot, emigrated to London about 1680, he became member of Clockmaking company in 1682 and died at 1698. Cuss, cock with D-shaped leg, steel balance wheel, barrel with endless worm stopwork. It can be dated to 1710s. The movement is not numbered, as well as the watch illustrated by Cuss. Champleve silver dial is in good condition. Inner Case is in good condition with some period wear. Outer case has old crack and soldering near the top of back cover. Henry Hoffmann Locle 73974 Hunters Case Key Wind Pocket Watch 18k Gold This watch Runs Good! Size appears to be a size 10s. The case is about 1 5/8 inch aprox. The dial is about 1 1/2 inch. Was just checked out, cleaned, and has new crystal. Exterior is in good shape interior has some fine scratches on gold. Looks like someone scratched initials above the 18K on the face side. Inside back cover engraved is the name Adelaide Grimes. Around the key wind area engraved is the Number 73974 Henry Hoffmann and Locle. There is scratches in the metal around the key wind area. The exterior is beautiful except, On the back side is one small dent otherwise perfect. Comes with original case. It has a winding key and chain, but chain is not in good shape. The Key has the name W. Aicher A watchmaker and Jeweler from the mid 1800′s (Please see add in the article). Size appears to be a 10s. The case is about 1 5/8 inch and the dial is about 1 1/2 inch.
