This is a mid 1800′s mechanical duplex Chinese Market Pocket Watch. These watches were made with a silver case, although most were not marked to indicate the makeup. It features a porcelain watch face with roman numerals and is marked in Chinese at the 12 o’clock position. It also has an interior lens. The movement is very ornate and is jeweled. It is designed to be mechanically wound with a key. I don’t have information on what materials were used to design the movement parts. The back protective cover opens with the lever above the 12 o’clock position. Inside lens cover also opens with a small lever. Watch face diameter: 47 mm. Overall watch diameter: 54 mm. Total weight: 92 g. Condition issues(see photos). The watch does not wind (see video). The spring barrel is loose. When attempting to wind, the mechanism springs back. Porcelain watch face is chipped at 8 and 5 o’clock positions. The case has fine scratching, scuffing, and a few dents. Front end lens is missing.
