Rare running 1888 Cheshire pocket watch. 3/4 plate 4 jewel movement grade 25 series 3, manufactured in Cheshire Conn. Open face hinged nickel case in good condition only minor scratches and dings due to age and use. The dial hands and crystal are nice, minor scratches on crystal. There is some tarnish and patina to this watch. See photos for condition details. The watch winds smooth and the lever set time set works. The watch keeps time but has not been checked for precision of timekeeping.

It has been keeping time but i have only ever wound it a bit. So the length of time it keeps time is unknown. I have tested with short winds and it keeps time up to 3 hours doing that. Shows wear, worn off finish to the case. The movement is sitting loosely inside of the case. Bit of damage to the glass face in a small area on the left side. Serial movement # 1823598. Case width is 54 mm.

Elgin Father Time 21 jewels pocket watch. B&B Royal 20 years case. Watch case has scratches, abrasions, dings, and plating/fill wear. Dial is cracked at the 2 and 7 o’clock positions. Plastic crystal has scratches and abrasions. Watch runs, but you have to tap it to get it started. Enlarge and carefully review the images which are considered part of the description. Front cover opens when top of stem is pressed. Everything works well including hinges. Hoping it won’t be melted for the silver.
