Case Details: Fahys “Ore Silver” No. Note that “Ore Silver” is a nickel-based alloy (not solid silver), designed to be highly durable and resistant to tarnish. Special Feature: The case back features a brass/gold-tone Locomotive (Train) inlay, which was a popular decorative choice for railroad-style watches of that era. For sale is a beautiful antique 1902 Elgin National Watch Co. This 18-size timepiece features a Grade 243 movement with 17 jewels and a Safety Pinion. The movement (Serial #9928220) is exceptionally clean with ornate damaskeening. The watch is housed in a rugged Fahys Ore Silver No. 1 case, known for its “dust-proof” design and durability. The back of the case features a striking embossed locomotive engine inlay. The white enamel dial is in good vintage condition with bold Arabic numerals and a sub-seconds dial.
