Four Daguerreotypes in a gold filled locket of the Murphy family from Lagrange, Maine. The ornate locket itself shows scattered wear appropriate with use and age. The Dags are in very good condition as the images are clear with minimal wear. Samuel was a private in the 8th Maine Company K during the Civil War. A note written by a descendant of the family is attached to the locket. It’s a fantastic piece for the early photography collector, as it would make a fine addition to your collection.
