Pocket Watch Case

Offered for sale is an antique Elgin National Watch Co. Pocket watch, made in USA ca. This is a 16-size watch, and measures approximately 50mm (2) diameter. This watch features a yellow gold filled hunting case with an engine turned design and a blank cartouche on the front, a 17-jewel Grade 386 stem-wind stem-set movement, and comes with a white double sunk dial with black Arabic numerals and b lue steel spade hands. The case is in very good condition, showing signs of normal pocket carry and some very light brassing (not noticeable unless you look very closely). The dial is in excellent condition, showing no visible cracks or chips. The movement runs and keeps excellent time. A very attractive private label. Running strong and keeping good time. Put in a salesman style display back case. One extremely small hairline coming from edge of small seconds to 6 position. This 44mm vintage Rolex pocket watch has been amazingly preserved over its lifetime. The original white gold-filled case displays very clean overall condition. 17 jewels Movement by Rolex Geneve & Bienne (Made for the Canadian market/military). The watch runs well and keeps time. The dial is original. Over time the watch’s dial has yellowed. The Rolex logo on the dial is faded, although you can see where the logo is despite the fading (Please refer to the pictures). Runs but stops after a few seconds. The crown is stuck and doesn’t move hands. With scuffs and scratches. Not tested – Case symbol indicates it is 14K/8K according to the pocket watch database. Apx 60gr total weight (see photos). Case is apx 42mm (excluding the crown).
