This is an extremely rare Rolex Prince Imperial observatory grade pocket watch from around the 1940s. This model was produced in very small quantities from the early 1940s until the early 1950s in gold and Rolesium cases, like this fine example. Rolesium is a platinum-steel alloy material that Rolex patented in 1932. The design of this Rolex Imperial was unusual, even by Rolex’s creative standards. With a strikingly novel shape of the case, this was and still is an absolutely elegant pocket watch that could be worn for any occasion. The watch case measures 41mm x 37. The overall cosmetic and operating condition is very good, especially considering it is around 80 years old. The watch is all original, including the signed crown.
