BEAUTIFUL Early 18th Century Antique Repousse Silver Pair Case Pocket Watch. CHATERY SON, LONDON, Dutch Market 1740 (RUNS new chain). English pair case fusee pocket watch made in London. Estimate date, 1740s Notice the Balance cock design, pillars, and surrounding plates, unlike other early watches. It has square pillars and a pierced balance cock and other designs. DIAL is good but needs the pins to secure. Pins on order now, will get and send them too. The watch measures approx. About 37-38mm in diameter; Outer Pair case, about 48mm. Has been re-rounded out back to shape. Watch hands removed while being worked on. Dial has “chip” Can be repaired by Ceramics specialist-artist. See new pic what it could look like. New CHAIN on the way from England. Pair case hinge has one loose hinge-hole – may be soldered back by silversmith, if I don’t get to it myself. The watch is partly oiled. Currently can wind and will run. When CHAIN is replaced. (yet to be done). A little pressure on the FUSEE makes it tick away; SO, no broken gear parts or pinions; ALL teeth on gears (see contrate) are very good. I recommend that it be cleaned and.
