English Verge Fusee Half Hunter Silver Pair Cased Pocket Watch J. This listing is for a Georgian sterling silver half hunter pair cased verge fusee pocket watch by J. Dumbell, Wolverhampton circa 1846. The watch has a sterling silver pair case. Matching hallmarks for Birmingham, 1846. Both cases in good condition with minor signs of wear. Some marks and light dents commensurate with age… The watch has an English verge fusee, chain driven movement. Engraved balance cock with grotesque face and regulator needle. Movement is signed J. The movement is working well and running strongly in all positions for the full length of the chain. The original white enamel dial is in good condition, a light hairline but no major damage. The watch measures approx 58mm across and weighs 158 grams. The movement has been removed from the case to photograph. All my watches are tested on a flat surface. This is an extra nice “SUN & MOON” Fusee pocket watch. Make an Offer — All offers are welcome. This is a very rare watch and compared to other pocket watches only a few of these exist. Many pocket watch collectors have never seen a Sun & Moon watch. This watch only has a minute hand. The Sun & Moon travel in the window of the dial. You will notice the moon and the sun has a pointer that points to the Roman numerals to tell the hour. Then you look at the minute single hand for the minutes. The case covers open and close properly. The case is approximately 58mm, excluding the bow and winding stem. The movement looks clean & nice, and runs will for hours, and will stop running. It needs to be cleaned and/or oiled. The crystal is clear and very thick. The case has some wear and and small dings – over all excellent for it’s age. Both the inner and outer sterling cases have the same hallmarks. This watch appears to be all original. You will not be disappointed when you see this watch in person.
